Are there more BFPs in the summer?!

Back in Feb when I had my BFN almost all the news on this forum was negative. Yet there were loads of girls posting daily that had been successful the previous summer. This summer we are again hearing about loads of BFP's. I know a lot of people don't post their cycle in the survey section, but a summer trend is showing there as well. Do you think cycling in the summer can help IVF/PGD?

I've always thought so. Although, have never researched it.
ETA - I cycled in August.
My *SET* OHW MS/IVF/PGD baby girl is 2!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You have to remember too, that more people cycle in Summer, as it's more convenient w/ summer break etc..

This. I think that's all- no magic about the summer other than it's easier to travel and get time off with the dh/kids.

The only thing I can think of is that sunlight is supposed to help fertility... more sunlight in summer?
But then again, both of my boys were conceived in winter so I guess there is no rhyme or reason!

Have often wondered about this. Read an article that cancer patients do better in the summer time too (something about the sun? Wished I'd book marked it).

I think last summer was like that too.
I do have a theory....I have been thinking about it for a while.
I have probably read almost every article on the face of the earth on IVF since January. One of the things they mention so much is blood circulation. More blood circulation to uterus=higher success (hence accupuncture helps). Hot summer days=more blood circulation, I have found. My veins even stick out more in the summer. Most of us are in the Northern Hemisphere on IG, so we all share the same summer.
Just a theory.... :-)

Very interesting ladies! I know GZ, gsbabies, and I all got BFP's last summer and I'm sure there are 1 or 2 I'm forgetting. Hmmmm....makes you wonder....

The only reason that it seems to be that way on here is just the volume of people that choose to cycle in the summer because of kids' schedules, etc. There is always a big group in July/August that cycle for that reason.
Believe in dreams, they do come true.

And all the BFN's last summer forgot to post their cycle in the survey section? I feel it's not just the volume. At the start of 2010, I kept hearing BFN, BFN and a BFP was like a miracle - the survey section shows a stream of BFNs. At the moment I'm hearing more BFP,BFP, BFP, yes there are BFN's too - but I feel the IG BFPs are out numbering the BFNs at the moment. No?!?

I don't fall into that trend at all since I got my BFP in December - one day before Christmas. But, that doesn't mean that it doesn't work, you never know. But I promise that the fall / winter girls can get their good news too!

Now I did notice a little peak in the survey section around Christmas too - and then it rapidly dropped in Jan, Feb & Mar. Maybe the run-up to Christmas is a good time too!

Just looking at the survey stats and.... For the first 4 months of 2010, we have only 3 BFPs (of which 2 were FETs), and 19 - yes 19...BFNs, we also have 5 no transfers. Come May, June and July - we already have 10 BFP and only 8 BFN's IG girls seem luckier in summer - I'm hoping it continues!!!
