Why doesn't my status show to offline when I log out.

I've noticed on quite a few occassions that I've logged out and it still looks like I'm online. I would hate to think anyone would think me ignornant and for ignoring any replies to new threads I've put up. It seems to take ages for my status to show as offline is this the same for most people. I've tried all the usual clearing internet browsing history and rechecking ig whilst offline and still it shows me online hope that makes sense.

If I remember this correctly, Maureen once told us that the "online" message can remain for up to 20 minutes after you log off.
