It is right underneath my belly and pretty much runs in a semi circle from hip to hip. It comes out of nowhere and feels kinda like stitch or muscel cramp and can last for up to half an hour. It is really painful and the worse part about it is i have to sit or lie down as soon as i get the pain or else it gets really unbearable but that is a little hard to do if you are at the supermarket or trying to entertain 2 little boys! Can anyone shed any light on this? Im not sure if it is something I should be worried about or not because i have been getting it randomly for about 4 weeks now but since the weekend I am getting it at least twice a day which is really frustrating and sore

It's those muscles stretching....there's a name for it but I can't think of it right now. Those muscles get stretched and weakened. It'll get better but you've got to take it easy as it's very easy to aggravate them.

 I havehad the same thing happen I hate it, another disconfort of pregnancy. It has happened a lot more this time around, blah.

Thanks for that - I never experienced this pain in my last 2 pregnancies. Not sure if I will be able to take it easy though, my boys will not have a bar of it!

 Clarebear- I know what you mean about it not being easy to take it easy- we have full time jobs being mommies.....I mean, we have husbands, but what good are they haha j/k. I mean, my husband will help out here and there, but not much. He just gets to do the fun stuff and play with them! anyways, I hope they get better for you, I have had quite a few different things going on this pregnancy that didn't with my first two- it is weird!

YES! It KILLS doesn't it?! At first I thought it was a massive contraction but it is different...more like a pain. I have to SIT and then just wait until it passes. It has been happening often (we're about the same gestation so imagine it is normal). It just comes on out of the blue also...but sometimes when I tug my belly the wrong way---like getting up quickly. Hang in there..:)

YES! That is exactly what its like! Phew, im so glad i am not the only one experiencing it - thanks for that

 

I had the same kind of pain and referred to it as "lower ligament pain" -- Just try to get on your left side with a pillow under the belly (in front) and a pillow behind your lower back, oh, and another pillow between the knees!  That will take the weight off of some areas and give them a rest. You're almost there, best of luck!

Yes, I have also heard it called round ligament pain, which started for me a couple of weeks ago and definately much worse this third time around.

What does round ligament pain feel like?  I've got pain on my right side at the bikini line.  Most of the time it's just a dull ache.  Once in a while it will be a sharp pain.  I'm 17 weeks.  Has anyone else had this?  This is my first pregnancy so I'm paranoid about everything! :)

I had that as well and it turned out to be a varicose vein that popped out at about 22 weeks so it might be that?? They are ugly but pretty harmless especially if they are on the right leg. HTH
