    Can anything help low progesterone?

I've been TTC for about a year now with no luck.  I have had a few months of having sore boobs from around 6DPO to AF but always got a BFN when testing.  I think I have a low progesterone problem or am struggling with implantation.  Have seen dr but he does not think I have this problem, although has referred me to a fertility specialist (waiting list).

I've been taking 100mg of B6 for about 5 weeks to help lengthen my luteal phase but that has so far made my cycle shorter and gone from 26 days to 25 days!

Just wondered if there is anything I can do to help myself.

I just read in another thread that you can take a Max of 200mg B6, maybe try that or buy progestrone cream, that should help.

How long till you get in to see the specialist?

i just got back from my RE appt, and was told i have low progestrone. he gave me RX for natural progestrone supps. i told him that i was using natural progestrone cream, and he said it is not worth it. studies have shown it's absorbotion is inconcistant. so i would say if you think it is low to talk with the dr. Can I buy progestrone cream over the counter.  My dr wouldn't give me a presciption as he didn't think that was my problem.  Got a cancellation, so just 2 weeks till I see the specialist.

maybe I need RX natural progestrone supps.  Can you buy over counter?  I did have a chat with dr but he didn't think I have low progesterone, but I know I have because I have the ovacue vaginal wand and my readings are mega low.  I expect the specialist will be able to help me more.

The RE will do a blood test at 7dpo to test your progesterone and see if you are ovulating.  I would just wait until you see the specialist and would not buy the cream.  I would talk to the RE first.

I agree, wait to see the RE. He'll run blood work to check everything out for you.

thanks Michaela.  I think I will do that.  In the meantime, do you think I should carry on taking the 100mg of B6?

I actually would stop the B6 because that could scew the results of your progesterone test.  You can stay on it but definitely tell the doc that you were on it.

just hang in there for the RE to  handel the progestrone problem. i'm so happy to be being treated by one. my ob said the same thing, but the RE said no here is a RX for it. i actually have a TTC plan. it has every cycle day listed and he circles what pertains to me, and adds notes under the certin cycle days. i'm so excited. i'm like a little school girl i hang it on the frig, and love to look at it. my insurance company deney coverage for my progestrone supps. they cost me $211.00.( for 2 weeks worth) i was so not expecting that. i did not even get to do IUI this month(bad timing) so it's probally a total waste.

yep prometrium is what i was given. they consider it a non formulatory drug, so no coverage. i found that the generic is formulatory and is only $80.will still probally deney because of infertility, but at least i can save some bucks. i will ask dr wednesday(when i have the progestrone test) if i can get generic next time.

Do you have a Walgreens near you?  I think that is where I got mine for $40 and it is the name brand Prometrium not generic.  Hmmmmm I wonder if I could get some for you LOL!
